Alright, I’m over it.
Scotland making a very Scottish mess of the football, that is. Obviously got my own back a bit by singing Viva España for about 48 hours straight.
But we move. The round ball is stashed, the running shoes are out.
I wanted to share with you some truly inspirational stories of women doing their thing not just as Olympians – but doing their thing as Mums, too.
It’s truly wild to me as the proud owner of 2 grown-ups who won’t leave the house – and as someone whose brain melts when the internet goes down or I can’t find the car keys – to see how these women have made it to the top of their games, at the same as bringing up families and helping changing the world.
Simply incredible. They’re your true Olympians, right there.
Let’s meet them and I hope there are moments we can all touch on to help us all hop over those little bumps in the road.
The Mums of Team GB
Part of Team GB’s medal winning onslaught will be led by a bunch of hard-running, hard-working Mums. This piece introduces you to a few of them.
Olympic Daughter. Nobel-prize winning Mum.
Not a bad combo this, an Olympic champion rower and her mega brained Mum. A Nobel Prize brain, no less.
Keeping it in the family
Must be the genes, right? Because the McColgans have got medals in their DNA.
